Boys Middle School Basketball, Girls Middle School Basketball · WHMS boys back on track with defeat of Rucker-Stewart, girls drop fourth straight

WHITE HOUSE – The White House Middle School Blue Devils boys basketball team got back on the winning track Monday night with a 42-38 win over visiting Rucker-Stewart.

Eighth grader Cooper Brinn scored 12 of his game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter, including a breakaway layup in the final minute to seal the game.

Rhys Blackburn, Nolen Honeycutt and Blake Barker all scored six points each. Caleb Dorris and Keyon Dickerson scored three points apiece and Michael Greer added two.

White House led 21-16 at the break but only 28-27 after three.

White House improved to 3-5 (2-4) for the season. Rucker-Stewart is 2-6 (2-4).

The Rucker-Stewart girls defeated White House, 47-40. 

Marley Hyde had 15 points for the Lady Devils and Avery Droz added 12, followed by Marley Mills with eight, Sydney Richardson and Carmen Perkins two each, and Emily Seavers one.

White House girls fell to 4-4 (2-4) for the year, but lost its fourth straight game after starting the year undefeated.

White House is at Portland East Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
