WHITE HOUSE – The inside out game of the White House Middle School Blue Devils was too much on Monday night at home for the Hawkins Commandos, as WHMS finished the home season with a 35-18 victory.
White House led by 17 points the majority of the second half after building a commanding 17-4 edge at the intermission.
Rhys Blackburn scored 14 points to lead the hosts as White House powered the ball inside even though long-range threes didn’t fall. Cooper Brinn worked his way into the lane for 10 points, and Jimmy Allen came off the bench for two.
Nolen Honeycutt scored four, Bryce Hill hit the lone three of the game for his only points, and J.C. Myers added two points plus two nifty assists on the high-low pass to feed Blackburn.
Stevin Mack used his athleticism to move up and down the floor, but the Blue Devils defensive pressure limited him to eight points in the game, six of which after the game was out of reach. Aaron Johnson came off the bench to score six, then Josh Grisham two, and Pate Pfaffman and Logan Fishler one each.
White House plays at Knox Doss on Thursday night to finish the regular season, then starts the Sumner County Middle School Conference Tournament Saturday at 3 p.m. against Knox Doss again. The Blue Devils (7-8, 4-5) are the number five seed and Knox Doss is the four.
Hawkins is 0-13, 0-9.
