Boys Varsity Bowling · Boys Bowling: White House ends season in TSSAA state quarterfinal loss

SMYRNA — The White House boys bowling team completed its 2018-19 season on Friday in the TSSAA Division I Bowling Team Championships in Smyrna with a 20-7 loss to the host school.

In a three-game match with six bowlers on each side competing in each game, White House lost the total pin fall 1052-1023, 1156-1095 and 1177-881 for a grand total of 3385-2999. Smyrna won the individual matchups 11-7 and earned two bonus points in each game win and three bonus points for the match pinball win for a 20-7 edge.

Austin Vickers rolled a 247 in game two for the highest pin total for White House, and Vickers also posted a 211 in game one and Jacob Watts a 204 in game two. Watts was the only bowler to go 3-0 in the team competition, winning all three of his matchups though White House won just seven overall.

Undefeated Smyrna (22-0) advances to face Bartlett (17-3) in the semifinals, and Lawrence County (18-2) will square off with unbeaten Hardin County in the top side of the bracket. The winners of those matches will compete for the state championship later Saturday.
