White House High School to Support Suicide Awareness
By Ava Anderson for White House High School

The second leading cause of death in Americans ages 15-24 is suicide.

To break it down, that accounts for 18% of deaths in young lives. As sad as it is, many feel as if it is their only way out.

White House High School is bringing awareness to this situation on Thursday, September 12th. As a school, we are going to unite and wear the color yellow. If you are a student or faculty member at WHHS, show your support to this cause.

September is national suicide awareness month, with September 10th being the specific day to support. If you are wanting to support this awareness another way, there are numerous charities to which you can donate.

The idea of this is from two students, Devin Jones and Emily Wilkerson. They have created a DECA project called “Break the Silence.” You can follow them on Instagram @break.the.silencewhhs

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call 1-800-273-8255 right away.
