Blue Devils News · DECA doing great things at White House High School

By Lauryn Ramirez for White House BDP

DECA is a fun, interactive club that is open to all students at White House High School. Students in this club can compete/learn more about careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. It also provides the opportunity to meet new people and be more involved in school clubs and activities.

Last Saturday, November 2nd, DECA held a character pancake breakfast at Colorado Grill in White House. DECA members dressed up as various characters and served customers. Tickets were $8 and that included a delicious breakfast and picture with a character. DECA members had a fun time participating in this event to help their club and raise money.

Another way DECA comes together is by having a Taco Tuesday every first Tuesday of the month. There are also monthly chapter meetings to held by the officers to help inform members about upcoming events and competition.

The members of DECA are also very excited for their upcoming competitions! There is a wide selection of events such as role play, written events, and much more that students can sign up for. DECA Districts will be held on January 28th and all the members competing are hoping to qualify for state which will be held in Chattanooga this year.

If you are interested in learning more about the DECA program, you can talk to this year’s president Kate Harvey or the advisors Ann-Hali Blewett and Bryce Bumbalough.
